Superior Start, Big MNF and World Series Picks

Amazing.  Since we’ve reconvened here on SSP we have been unstoppable, yet to lose a bet.  Of course, we know that cannot continue forever but we were not ready to stop this streak now.  We got a another great night in sports with a big Monday Night Football game between the Texans and Colts AND a crucial Game 5 in the World Series.  This Game 5 could turn into the stuff of legends with Tim Lincecum again facing off against Cliff Lee.  Probably be tuning in the World Series and flipping to the MNF game with the breaks.  Anyway, here’s yesterday’s results:

10/31/10 —–  2-0  +2.36 Units

Today’s Plays:

  • Texans ML +200
  • SF Giants +161

World Series Game 5 Picks

Happy Halloween!  Got a great day with all the action abound and Halloween upon us.  Don’t miss the crucial Game 5 World Series game tonight which we’ll be providing our side below.  Full slate of NFL too.  Wired Magazine has a great article on the Cantor In Game Betting in Vegas, you should definitely check it out if you are not familiar with the concept or the algorithms.  The article explains how it was implemented and how it’s the future of sports books, and I happen to agree with that assessment.  Volume is everything for the book and the more volume and bets you can generate, the less risk you’ll have.  That is, assuming you have the right numbers which we all know that they miss big on some.  Yesterday’s results:

10/30/10 —–  1-0  +1.0 Units

Today’s Picks:

  • SF Giants  +136
  • Dolphins  -1

Saturday Links and NBA Picks

Here’s a sampling of things we found interesting today:

Wow.  If you haven’t read the story about the Notre Dame student that died this week while filming football practice, make sure you check out this series of articles on Deadspin.  Simply tragic, especially his tweets.

Two articles on the cultural and political differences between San Francisco and Dallas, here and here.

Christine O’Donnell one night stand account.

Hardball Times has a good article on the best Non World Series Matchups. Of course the 2003 Cubs v. Red Sox ranks as the number 1 hypothetical matchup.

McDonalds telling their employees how to vote?

Yesterday’s Results:

10/29/10 —–  2-0 +2.0 Units

Today’s Plays:

  • Kings +3

Big Friday NBA Picks

Finally, SSP is back.  It’s been too long but luckily we have a great round up of games tonight and the first weekend of NBA is always delightful.  Make sure you check back tomorrow for the great board of college football presented to us.  Since we lost the archives in transition to the new blog, here’s a refresher on how we operate.  We usually post on a daily basis by mid afternoon.  We’ll post free picks everyday and occasionally we’ll release a Premier Pick which we charge for.  The cumulative yearly record in all sports can be found on the Record Page in the upper right and we are 100% up front and honest about our record which can be verified by the posts.  Oh yeah, the most popular part of the daily post, according to the blog stats is our daily picture…enjoy.

Today’s Free Plays

  • Nets  -2.5
  • Heat  -3.5

SSP Is Back and Better Than Ever

After a long layoff we are back and have had to revamp the whole site.  This is a good thing ultimately, however, we unfortunately will lose all our archives.  Until that moment you can view a bared down version of the old site here:

odb72.typepad.com

In the meantime, we are working hard to get the site back to it’s former glory days, including all the great pics and picks we’re known for!  Please be patient with us for the next upcoming days as we get everything perfected but we definitely hope to see you around.
